Friday night’s road opponents proved unwelcome hosts to Calhoun and Central High.
The Calhoun Tigers and the Central Lions both failed to score in losing efforts against New Brocton and Highland Home.
The Class 2A Region 3 Calhoun Tigers fell to 0-1, 0-2 on the season suffering a defeat at the hands of regional opponent New Brockton 56-0.
The only highlight of the game for Calhoun was a 40-yard second half kickoff return by Ira Joe Lewis.
“We have to go back to the drawing board to figure this out,” said Calhoun head football coach Dewayne Williams.
Calhoun goes on the road again next Friday to face regional opponent Zion Chapel.
The Class 2A Region 3 Central Lions also fell to 0-1, 0-2 suffering a defeat on the road at the hands of regional opponent Highland Home 35-0.
Central head football coach Martez Graham said his team got “kicked” in a contest the Lions only trailed in 8-0 at the half.
Central will be on the road again next Friday to face regional opponent Elba.
