A Lowndes County man was found guilty on two charges of first-degree rape and first-degree sexual abuse Tuesday.

Melvin Rudolph, 52, was found guilty on all three charges Tuesday following allegations of sexual abuse of an 11-year-old child in Lowndes County during the summer of 2012.

The two separate charges of first-degree rape stem from different causes: one charge was added because the child was under the age of 12, and the other was due to forcible compulsion.

Sentencing will be held on Wednesday, May 6 at the Lowndes County Courthouse in Hayneville at 10:30 a.m.
