Rebels fall to 0-2 at Wilcox

The Lowndes Academy Rebels fell to 0-2 on the season Friday night in non-regional contest at Wilcox by a final count of 54-12.
Thomas Ward accounted for both of the Rebels’ scores late with a 1-yard touchdown run and about a 20-yard touchdown run.
Head football coach Todd Bradford, called Friday night’s performance “another bad start, similar to last week regional loss at Jackson, “slow, a lot of penalties and got ourselves in a hole.”
The Rebels found themselves down 26-0 after the first quarter.
Bradford said the team’s fundamentals just weren’t up to what the team needs to play winning ball.
Lowndes Academy quarterback Wade Howard wen 4 for 8 passing for 86 yards.
Leading rushers for the Rebels were Ward, Brandon Reid and Cody Harrell.
Calvinar Thomas had 106 yards in kick returns.
Leading tackles for the Rebels were Harrell with 7, Ethan Bennett with 5, Wade Ryan with 6 and Brandon Reid with 5.
Bradford said for regional visiting regional opponent Patrician this Friday, the Rebels will have to concentrate on blocking and tackling.
