Pioneer Electric Cooperative, along with many other power companies throughout the state, is working tirelessly to restore power across Alabama, including Lowndes County, following the recent severe weather outbreaks.
As of 8 a.m., Pioneer Electric Cooperative was experiencing a total of 33 outages. With these outages, 866 customers were affected, 343 customer outages have been restored and 523 customers were experiencing outages.
“Our linemen have been working earnestly to restore power to our customers and will continue to work diligently until all of the outages have been restored in our area,” said Manager of Engineering and Operations Phillip Baker.
The 8 a.m. outages included 324 customers in Butler County, 89 customers in Lowndes County, 57 customers in Conecuh County, 12 customers in Monroe County and two customers in Covington County are without electricity.
However, as of 12:35 p.m. there were no outages listed in Lowndes County.
“We encourage all of our customers to pay close attention to the approaching weather conditions and to adequately prepare for any additional severe weather that may pose a threat to our area as the day unfolds,” said Communications Specialist Casey Rogers.
