Friday night football was unkind to both the Lowndes Academy Rebels and the Central High Lions.

The South Choctaw Academy Rebels spoiled homecoming for the Lowndes Academy Rebels, Friday, handing the home team a 34-6 regional loss.

The loss drops the home standing Rebels to 2-3 overall and 0-3 in regional play. South Choctaw improved to 2-3, 1-1.

Defensively for Lowndes Academy, David Hussey was the leading tackler with 14 tackles, followed by Garrett Headley with 12. And Chad Shaner claimed an interception.

Adding to the homecoming woes, Lowndes Academy quarterback Cody Harrell went down with a knee injury in the first half.
Corey Lowe, who filled in for Harrell, was 4-15 passing for 139 yards. And Headley caught three passes for 92 yards.

Central

The Central High Lions must keep searching for their first win in five years after falling on the road to Montgomery Academy 37-14, Friday night.

The loss drops the Lions to 0-5 on the season and to 56 straight losses in the past five seasons.
Central will have to go on the road next Friday to face regional opponent Zion Chapel in Jack, Ala. looking for that elusive win.

Lowndes Academy will also have to go on the road in search of their first regional victory of the season at Southern.
