Vaughner memorship scholarship program set for Saturday

The family of the late Lowndes County Sheriff Willie Vaughner, along with God’s Anointed New Generation Nation Ministry will host its first Sheriff Willie Vaughner Memorial Scholarship Fund” program/musical Saturday, June 29 at 3 p.m. at the Jackson-Steele Community Center in White Hall.
According to Willetta Vaughner Dunning, “One senior from one of the local public high schools will be the recipient of the scholarship.” She said the public can assist in making this happen making a charitable donation to the scholarship fund via cash, checks, or money order.
“All contributions will be used for the purpose of the scholarship fund. Receipts for tax purposes will be available upon request,” Dunning said.
She said the late Sheriff Vaughner was not only a hometown hero, but an Air Force Veteran of Vietnam, an Alabama State Trooper, a teacher and a mentor to many.
Checks and money orders should be made payable to the “Willie Vaughner Scholarship Fund.” Donations can be mailed to Willetta Dunning at P.O. Box 244, Hayneville, AL, 36040.
