Kids Catfish Rodeo set for this Saturday

Adults can treat children to a fun day of fishing this Saturday, June 15 when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers/Alabama River Lakes and the Alabama Department of Wildlife and Fisheries hold their 19th annual Kids Catfish Rodeo at the Lowndes County Wildlife Management Area in White Hall.
According to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the event is open to everyone ages 15 and under. However, an adult must accompany each child.
Some loaner poles will be available, but everyone is asked to bring their own pole and bait.The event will be held from 7:30 – 11 a.m., and refreshments will be served.
The U.S. Corps of Engineers advises, “Know the water, know your limits, wear a life jacket.”
To get to the fishing pond take U.S. 80 West from Montgomery to Lowndes County Road 23 North in White Hall, turn left to Lowndes County Road 40 West and follow the signs to Henderson Road (right turn) and follow the signs to the pond. From Selma take or U.S. 80 East to Lowndes County Road 23 North in White Hall, to County Road 40 West (left turn) and follow the signs to Henderson Road (right turn) and continue to follow the signs to the pond.
