Challenger Carnell McAlpine has defeated incumbent Charlie King Jr. for Lowndes County Commission District Two and Adrian Johnson won election over Debra “Caldwell” Bush as Lowndes County District Court Judge.
Voters went to the polls Tuesday night to elect a district court judge and a District Two county commissioner in a Democratic Primary runoff and to decide the Republican candidate for president of the Public Service Commission in a Republican Primary runoff.

The following are election results with 13 boxes, including absentee ballots, and only provisional votes remaining to be counted.

In the race for district judge,incumbent appointed District Court Judge Johnson defeated Bush 2,409 to 1,865, and in the race for County Commission District Two, McAlpine defeated King 835 to 781.

None of these candidates face Republican opposition.

In a Republican Primary runoff election Lowndes County residents had to choose between Chip Brown and Twinkle Andress Cavanaugh for president of the public service commission.

Brown had 16 votes and Cavanaugh had 39 votes in Lowndes

County.

Provisional votes will be counted May 1.
