According to the audit released by the state Department of Examiners of Public Accounts, a cashbook was maintained except for balances on hand and the bank accounts were reconciled except for detailing the balances on hand.

The recommendation was the probate judge should comply with provisions of the minimum requirements regarding the cashbook and bank accounts.

When contacted for comment, Hulett said, “I’m pleased with the work of my staff, and we are working to make sure everything is going according to code.”

The audit covered the period from Oct. 1. 2007 through Dec. 31, 2010.
