Elba defeats Calhoun
The Calhoun Tigers took it again on the chin in a 57-14 loss to Elba in 2A regional bout at home in Letohatchee Friday night. But once again, head football coach Bill Williamson found some definite positives.
“We played real well,” said Williamson considering that his team hosted undefeated Elba. “I was real proud of our guys. We hung with them after one quarter.”
The Tigers scored on a 1-yard run by Trevontae Hardy and a 3-yard run by Jamarcus Davison and a 2-point conversion by Davison.
Williamson said he believed Calhoun football fans liked the effort they saw from his kids. He said, “Maybe I’m looking through rose colored glasses. ” But he said, “Against a team like Elba, we made some fans tonight.”
