The results of a state audit of District Attorney John S. Andrews, Second Judicial Circuit of Alabama, including Butler, Crenshaw and Lowndes counties show a clean bill of health.

The audit by the state Department of Public Accounts, Ronald L. Jones, chief examiner, was released Friday and “did not disclose any material instances of noncompliance with applicable state or local laws and regulations.”

The DA is responsible for the law enforcement activities in the counties of the judicial circuit. The DA utilizes the District Attorney’s Fund, Worthless Check Fund, Worthless Check Unit, Child Support Enforcement Fund and Drug Court Fund.

“I’ve got awfully good support staff and they’re the ones responsible for that primarily,” said Andrews. “Any time you have an audit and come out with a clean bill of health with no recommendations then it’s very good.”

The audit covered the period from July 1, 2008 through Aug. 31, 2010.
