Tuesday night’s storms resulted in trees down in Lowndes County in the Calhoun area and a voluntary flood evacuation in the Mt. Willing/Fort Deposit area, according to EMA Director Walter Hill.

A tree fell on a power line and caught fire on County Road 33 and was put out by the Calhoun Fire Department, he said.

Hill said voluntary flood evacuation has been called for the area of County Road 45 and Ninth Place in the Mt. Willing/Fort Deposit area until 6 p.m. Wednesday.
