A shooting early Wednesday morning in Mosses has left one minor and one adult hospitalized.
Sheriff’s deputies and police chiefs from Hayneville and Mosses responded to a home invasion on Mulberry St. near County Road 13 around 1:15 a.m. on July 28 to find two injured by gunfire.
Tony Aaron, 34, and a still-unidentified 16-year-old were in the home when the invasion occurred.
Aaron suffered a gunshot wound to the head and the minor a gunshot wound to the arm, according to Lowndes County Sheriff Chip Williams.
Both were airlifted to Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery where they were rushed into surgery, according to EMA Director Walter Hill.
“The Alabama Bureau of Investigation (ABI) is being called in to assist with the investigation,” said Williams.
According to Damien Steele, acting Mosses Police Chief, authorities are still unclear about the number of suspects.
No determination has been made about the number or sex of the suspects.
Aaron’s medical condition has not been released for security reasons.
