Hayneville makes final preparations for Founders’ Day celebration

Hayneville is finishing the last-minute logistics for its Founder’s Day Celebration. The celebration will last from July 15 to July 18 with a slue of festivities involved.

A luncheon will be held July 15 at 11 a.m. at the Hayneville Plaza to award certificates of appreciation to local businesses and Sonny King.

Mayor Helenor Bell will unveil a Historical Marker on the town square July 16 at 12 p.m. and a parade in honor of Sonny King will be held July 17 starting at 5 p.m. at the town square.

The festivities will conclude with a prayer breakfast starting at 7 a.m. at the Hayneville Plaza.

The events are being sponsored by the Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis and Miles Law Firm, Alabama Power, SRBWI, Goodwyn, Mills & Cawood Engineering, the Flying J and attorney Labarron Boone.

“We appreciate everyone who made these events possible,” said Bell. “We encourage everyone to come out and show their support for the town and appreciation for the citizens who made and make it what it is today.”
