Signal to offer live election coverage

The Lowndes Signal will be covering tomorrow’s elections with live updates on our website.

Election officials say polls will open across the county at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.

Several highly anticipated races will be decided including Sheriff, County Commission and Alabama House of Representatives.

The Sheriff’s race pits current Sheriff and Gov. Riley appointee Chip Williams against former Deputy Sheriff “Big” John Williams, Harold Bell and B.C. Cooper.

Lowndes County’s Board of Education, District 3 position is also up for grabs, with candidates Donald J. Carter, Jr, Evelyn Louise McCall and Debbie Tammy Webb.

For Lowndes County Coroner, Doris Bean Alexander faces opponent Audrey Marlette.

County Commission seats will also be listed on this year’s ballot, including George Elijah and Robert Harris campaigning for District 1 and Joey (Joseph L., Jr) Barganier and Willie Ray Lassic running for District 4.
