Lowndes County is blessed with a large number of residents who regularly contribute to the well being and advancement of this county socially.

Denise Sole is one of those people helping to secure Lowndes County’s future through education and communication.

Sole is as a parent educator through the Home Instruction of Parents with Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) program.

She talks to parents of preschoolers to help them become more involved in their children’s educational growth, such as talking about their homework.

Every goal that the young lady has set for herself has been planned for and obtained through hard work, dedication and with the assistance of the people she surrounds herself with.

After obtaining her GED in 2008, Sole attended Virginia College to study office administration and learned more about the profession she is involved in.

Samita Jeter, Family Community Services Manager at the Lowndes County Board of Education Head Start (LCBOEHS) program has commented extensively on the “remarkable achievements Sole has been able to accomplish to reach her goals.”

Members and directors of the Lowndes County DHR, the LCBOEHS, the Board of Education RITE Center, Wallace Community College’s Adult Education Program and the Family Service Center are some of the organizations which have worked exclusively with Sole to reach “a major plateau in her life.”

These community services play into Sole’s family life as well. Sole has four children, Damien Wright, 8, Rashon Robinson, 6, Jaderreck Robinson, 4, and Harmony Robinson, 3.

She and her family received runner-up recognition and received a certificate at the 21st Annual Families of the Year Awards in 2009 from the Family Guidance Center in Montgomery.

A member of Sole’s family also has aspirations of helping people. Damien Wright, 8 and Sole’s oldest, has dreams of becoming a doctor when he grows up.

Sole said “she likes helping people” and is working to become a social worker through her studies at Virginia College.
