The 2A Calhoun Tigers came off a successful 10-0 win over Central High in their fall jamboree at home. But The Calhoun School ran into a buzz saw when they traveled to 4A Dallas County in Plantersville.

Calhoun head football coach Bill Williamson said of the 54-0 loss to the Dallas County Hornets, “They just wore us out on a hot night.”

Williamson said, “We were in it until the third quarter. We’re beat up. But I saw some good things.”

He said his team has a chance to have a good season and he saw lots of good things against a good 4A opponent.

“We just completely gave up. It was hot. We were going both ways,” said Williamson.

His Tigers will get a chance to face a 2A opponent Sept. 6 when they travel to New Brockton for a regional encounter.
